About Marcus
My name is Marcus Neto. I am addicted to coffee. Preferably the kind that would normally give a horse a heart attack. I enjoy photography. I like designing pretty things (sorry all designers have to put that in their bio). And I currently reside in Daphne, Alabama (near Mobile on the Gulf Coast, USA).
Among the many hats that I wear I am the Director of Business Development and Product Evangelist for EllisLab. EllisLab is a software company that makes ExpressionEngine, CodeIgniter and MojoMotor.
I also have a design studio called Blue Fish Design Studio. Blue fish has been in existence since 2005 and has helped over 150+ clients from all over the world with websites, marketing materials and photography. We are especially adept at building beautiful, accessible, seo-capable websites on the ExpresionEngine CMS.
I also co-founded Show-ee.com a showcase site for the ExpressionEngine community and founded EETemplates.com a commercial template site for ExpressionEngine. I’ve done some writing for Web Designer Depot comparing ExpressionEngine and Wordpress(Apples and Oranges).
I am originally from the Washington DC area where I consulted to various alphabet agencies on Development Best Practices using Rational Unified Process and Automated and Performance Testing. I’ve done some speaking on that topic at large international conferences for IBM but that was a long time ago…
Washington DC is also where I met my wonderful wife and where 2 out of 3 of my sons were born.
My likes are photography, being on or near the water, the laughter of my family. Oh… and ice cream.
